Intuitive Zoom

For Windows users, full-screen and/or partial-size magnification is likely the most common approach to magnification on the PC, configurable through Windows OS-level “Ease of Access” controls. However, navigation, especially horizontal scrolling navigation, becomes increasingly difficult and non-intuitive as the level of magnification increases. By utilizing a special eye-tracking sensor stack on the PC, the Intuitive Zoom control aims to deliver a more intuitive magnification experience. This software experience creates a magnification window that subtlety traverses the screen in all directions based on a user’s natural eye movement, guiding the window wherever the user looks.

In the example video above, special sensors in the laptop (shown here with dashed lines) track a user’s eye focus (shown here in red). The software uses this information to automatically move the magnification window around the screen in real time. Like Windows’ built-in magnifier solution, this experience could be easily activated/deactivated, change zoom level, and auto-navigation speed with simple key commands.
