Zoom Zone

Building on the unique affordances of dual-screen and foldable PC designs (e.g., increased screen estate), this concept for a quick-access magnification area, called the “Zoom Zone,” intends to provide low-vision users with a dedicated area of the screen for zooming/magnifying on the bottom display, just north of the on-screen keyboard. Having a dedicated zone for this kind of interaction allows users to maintain awareness of the overall distribution of content via the main display, while being able to zoom in and focus on individual elements of interest on the bottom display interface.

Advanced features of the “Zoom Zone” include utilizing generative AI for on-demand image enhancement and upscaling, allowing users to zoom in and get clearer renderings of images and text that would otherwise be blurry or out of focus.
